Go To Sleep

How many parents out there can speak first-hand about the importance of “the nap” and/or bedtime with a toddler? EVERYTHING in your daily schedule and social agenda revolves around ensuring that your child gets their sleep! Otherwise, you suffer the consequences, and boy do you ever. Regardless if you have children, nearly every individual has seen the effects on mood and mentation of a young child who did not get a good amount of sleep. It wrecks havoc on your body on so many levels. And that is just from ONE bad nap or night of sleep! So why does the prioritization of a good night sleep change as we age? Why, when so many adults are asked about poor sleep patterns, do we hear, “I’ll sleep when I’m dead”?

Peter Attia is a physician who is well-known for his medical practice that revolves completely around not only improving lifespan by delaying the onset of chronic disease, but also improving your quality of life. He has a great podcast (FREE) available. Below is part I of a three part series with professor and expert of sleep science, Matthew Walker. These podcasts delve into the incredibly strong correlations between sleep and things like Alzheimers disease, mental health and depression, cardiovascular disease and metabolism. Even if you only listen to the first podcast, I can assure you it will change the way you view your sleep!
